RotaBolt® tension control - precision through strain measurement

The RotaBolt technology is based on the standard indicator rod bolt in accordance with ASME PCC-1-2000 and sets new standards in bolt tension control. By measuring the length directly to assess the applied load, the RotaBolt version enables much more accurate tension measurement based on elongation. This ensures consistent application and long-term load stability. Each bolt is individually calibrated by a 100% load test and equipped with a special indicator for strain measurement, the values of which are certified.

RotaBolt® No. 1

RotaBolt® No. 1 technology was developed in the 1980s and remains unique in bolt tension control to this day. It utilises a standard bolt with indicator and RotaCap, which locks when the target tension is reached. As soon as a loss of tension occurs, the cap loosens immediately and signals the need for readjustment. Each screw is subjected to a 100% load test in advance and guarantees a tension measurement accuracy of ±5%. This enables reliable control and contributes to the long-term safety and stability of the connection.

RotaBolt® No. 2

RotaBolt® No. 2 technology offers even more comprehensive tension control during installation, tightening and operational testing. Thanks to a dual load indicator, each bolt has two tension settings in a single sensor. The outer cap shows a high tension setting, while the inner cap is designed for low tension. This allows an operational tension range to be defined that can be used for both overload control and maintenance inspections.
